Highland Ridge Farms
About Us
Meet Zach and Emily Peters, Owners & Operators of Highland Ridge Farms!
Hello and welcome, everyone! We are Highland Ridge Farms, and our journey began in 2020 when we moved to our 40-acre spread in Oak Hill, Ohio. Our property was initially a small pasture with a vast wooded area, but we saw its potential and had a dream of transforming it into the farm we envisioned.
We started from scratch, cutting trees, moving dirt, and navigating an ever-growing list of wants versus needs. Our passion lies in the Scottish Highland breed, and we are excited to see what the future holds for our farm. This journey is ongoing and ever-evolving, and we are delighted to share it with you!
Best regards, Zach and Emily Peters

Emily Peters
Meet Emily Peters, the newbie on the farm scene! Unlike Zach, Emily didn't grow up on a farm. Her closest experience with animals was showing hogs for 4H. However, Emily had a lifelong dream of owning a Highland cow, and it was something she was determined to fulfill.Emily's passion for Highland cows was ignited when she found out that one of Zach's customers had Highland cows, and Zach never mentioned it to her! Feeling a mix of excitement and frustration, Emily confronted Zach about it, and one thing led to another. Eventually, the customer stepped in to help make Emily's dream come true. From zero Highland cows to four pregnant cows, and then to a total of 10, Emily's dream has become a reality, and she couldn't be happier. Her journey into farm life has been an unexpected and thrilling adventure, and she's eager to continue learning and growing alongside Zach and their expanding herd.

Zach Peters
Meet Zach Peters, the seasoned cattle veteran in our dynamic duo! Zach's roots in farming run deep, as he grew up on his mom's family dairy farm and showed a wide variety of animals in 4H. His childhood was immersed in farm life, and he received a comprehensive education in caring for farm animals.
Given his upbringing on the family dairy farm, it was only natural for Zach to want to continue the family tradition. However, when his grandfather passed away, the family dairy farm was not available for Zach to take over. This led to a shift in the dream of a family farm, prompting Zach and Emily to embark on a journey to find a new piece of heaven and make it their own.
Despite the challenges and changes along the way, Zach's passion for farming and his deep connection to the land remain unwavering. He is dedicated to building a thriving farm alongside Emily, and together, they are forging their own path in the agricultural world.
